Title: Panda4u Project
Meet Pebbles the Panda and friends!
In my time and previous experience within the greetings card market you get to see a lot of cute stuff! It's obvious the usual trait is the many guises and incarnations of the trusted teddy bear to eek out and ramp up the cuteness factor. I've always wanted to develop of 'brand' of my own to see where I could take it.
So I've had the idea for a while now regarding my own 'brand' of greetings cards using the Panda as the hook. I've never seen it being used within the Greetings card market and think it odd that it's never been utilised as there's precious little more endearing than a Panda. It lends itself beautifully to the full on 'cute' treatment and so I've been developing my own range of cards in a loose watercolour style with very subtle colour palette using greys, browns, lilacs, peaches and quiet earthy pastel shades. In keeping with the origin of the Panda I wanted the brand to have a certain look and feel and always intended them to be designed with Japanese proverbs complimenting the designs. They often have beautiful morales, messages from the heart, thought provoking lines and heart-warming words.
I'd love to be able to devote more time to this in the near future and develop it into a complete range of artwork to include things such as seasonal cards for Valentines day, Christmas, birthdays and also take it into things such as calendars with seasonal designs, stationary and even their own line of soft toys!

1. Make the idea marketable in it's look. Retain the cute look with my own style of cute bear painting and drawings. Have that 'aw!' factor.
2. Create a unique brand
3. Tie the whole range to its origins, therefore the cards would be centred around human emotions and feelings. I researched Japanese proverbs and collected many, many examples. The designs would be married with very poignant and thought provoking sayings.
4. Give the brand the opportunity to diversify into other areas (e.g. gift ideas, prints)

I'm currently developing more designs! . .
. . . and hopefully we'll even have a home for Panda4u all on it's own on a sister website, www.panda4u.net!
